"We did it was purely business-" she laughed "but
then
you broke into my heart and now all I want is to be a family-
to make a family- with you"
He leaned down to kiss her. "Love, why don't we go for a
walk- clear our heads and discuss this further tonight."
"Rem, we aren't going to let this come between us are we?"
"No my love, I have no intention of loosing you. Just know
that whatever happens I love you. I have no intentions of being
anything other then your Remington Steele."
After they returned from the walk Laura headed upstairs for a
soak in the tub while Remington made a late lunch. Thirty minutes
later he entered the master bedroom he noticed Laura's clothes
in a pile near the bathroom door.
"Laura, Love" he called as he entered the bathroom.
She was
in the tub sound asleep. He quietly set the tray of food down
and walked over to test the water it was starting to get cool
so he gently tried to wake Laura, she stirred but would not wake
up. Remington pulled the drain on the tub and gently picked Laura
up. "Thank god for large tubs." As he made his way
to the bed with his wife in his arms he gently kissed her forehead
and whispered words of love to her. He
then laid her in the bed gently pulling the comforter over her.
As he slipped into bed beside her after removing his clothes
too he pulled her towards him and drifted off to sleep, they
would discuss the situation later.
He woke first, taking in the sight of his wife lying on her side;
her hair fanned out over her pillow a small smile on her face.
"Oh Laura, love " he began " If you think we can
do this
then so Do I. We created this baby out of love and I will do
everything in my power to see to it that our child knows just
how much it is loved."
He began to talk quieter with his hand on Laura's swollen
midsection. "Your mommy and I love you very much just the
way you are! And we will always love you, this world might not
be that easy or peaceful but this house will always be filled
with love for you, when you come into this world I want you to
know that you have two people right here that already think you
are perfect." With that he bent down to kiss his unborn
child, the excitement starting to reappear in his eyes of the
day and years to come.
"Sleep my beautiful bride, I hear those 3am feedings are
hell" he finished off with a chuckle
"Well then I suggest you get some sleep also because you
are
going to be up with me buster" she smiled as she rolled
over to face him.
"How long have you been awake?"
"Long enough"
"How much did you hear?"
"Enough to know that you want this baby as much as I do"
she
smiled
"Laura you are not supposed to ease drop on a father/child
moment."
"Oh- I'm not am I" she smiled at him and moved closer
"why don't we have a father/mother moment while we still
can, soon the child will be interrupting those" she finished
with a laugh
"I have to say if there's one thing this pregnancy has done,
it's given you an increased sex drive, I must say I like it."
He finished with a smile "who am I to deny my expectant
wife."
